Tom Turner is no longer coaching at Appalachia, Travis Turner has moved to Lee then to Powell Valley, and lots of other odd changes here and there. It has seemed pretty weird these past few years.

It doesn't take much to weird you out then does it?

I just feel that it's weird how Tom Turner had coached at Appalachia for so many years and is now no longer with us and that Travis Turner will be at Powell Valley this year although that school was pretty much one of his biggest rivals back in the 90's when Appalachia and Powell Valley were powerhouses.

I think it's pretty strange to see these things occurring because it almost changes the mood/atmosphere of the different schools, etc. in the area but that's just how I feel about it at this time. I'm still anticipating this season because I feel it's going to be a lot different than the previous ones in more ways than just changes at Appalachia and Powell Valley.

Welcome back to the LPD ,Travis.

Now they need a DC . I feel the defense has been lacking the intensity and ability to adjust since Barry Jones left . His defense would more often than not dictate how the opposing "O" played not vice versa .

Good luck to Travis! As a former teammate, I am happy for him as we all should be. This is a step in the right direction for him, he has a great football mind and IMO could be a future great.

As for Appy, to be honest with you I don't quite get a chance to keep up with them like I used to be able to. In my heart I will always root for the Dawgs, but I've also grown to like and respect all others in the LPD as well. Riggs stadium isn't a guaranteed venture for me on Friday night's in the LPD, and Im kinda glad to have my options open like that.

That move doesn't bother me at all. I'd be happy too, no matter where I was, just to be getting a paycheck.

I think it is a smart move on his part. Phil will in all likelihood be retiring soon and Travis could be right in line for the job, especially when consolidation comes back around.
